Pres. Obama Is Looking Like A One Term Man

The GOP has gained control of the House, which means that President Obama’s fight to make the changes he believes in has suddenly become even more difficult. Is this the beginning of our President’s demise? The Democrats and GOP have been fighting religiously against each other for power but have both sides lost sight of what’s really important? What about the well being of the American people??

I can admit two things. First, I have opinions about political events but most of the time I’m not that interested. Why is that? It’s because for the past few years it seems to be nothing but an endless amount of bickering and fights about what everyone should be doing but at the same time while they are bickering nothing seems to be getting done. Secondly, although I like Pres. Obama, and sometimes I don’t know if its a loyalty to my race and the accomplishments he has made or it’s because he has the amazing ability to make you start believing in this county and everything will be ok, but I honestly can’t tell you what he’s done for the country in the past two years that has made a difference besides spend more money. Now I’m not saying that he hasn’t done any remarkable things, it’s because of my own ignorance to what’s been going on, and the fact that that’s the only things I’ve been hearing without paying attention are about money and Obamacare.

So where does this leave us as a country? A country where we elect a President and then crucify him when things aren’t moving as fast as we want them to. I say it all the time, Americans like things fast–we like fast cars, fast food, fast men/women, and we are impatient when they don’t get going in a hurry. Also we say all the time that it’s going to take a while to clean up the mess that our former Pres. Bush created, but yet we can’t give our new President more than one term to clean it up? Is it because he is black? Would he still get the same amount of blatant disrespect if he weren’t a minority? Why is there such obvious disrespect for him that we have never seen exhibited openly towards another president before? All of these questions hang in the air and although people try to answer them no one wants to really tell the truth.

The next few years are going to be difficult because the two political sides are as heated and relentless as they have ever been. It’s clear by actions that Pres. Obama is not being respected in his position. As the future of this generation, we can make a difference. Even though I am guilty of not doing it, we need to stay informed and educate ourselves about what’s really going on. The news only tells half of the story.

“Be the change you want to see.”

Yea, it’s looking extremely difficult for Obama to gain control of the legislative branch with the GOP winning many seats on Tuesday. I’m oblivious to much of the work he’s done so far during his term but I think the country is starting to ease out of the recession. I think American society today is becoming more impatient as you’ve stated — damn technology lol.

It is very likely to make politics very cyclical and a perpetual standstill while the common citizen is losing out. I think we need to begin to make more of an effort to do research on our local communities and appoint leaders of our towns and cities who can directly impact us. Instead we waste energy about politicians who only aspire to block the other party’s agenda.

This: “So where does this leave us as a country? A country where we elect a President and then crucify him when things aren’t moving as fast as we want them to. You read my mind. I think it goes without mention that he has been dubbed some kind of “false black Messiah”–put into a position, expected to work miracles, and then crucified for not doing so. His biggest critics are going to say that it has nothing to do with him being black, but I’m gonna go ahead and just give them the side eye on that one. Yes, we are always critical of our Presidents/Governors/Mayors/Senators. Its the territory that comes with being a high powered elected official. But do I think that they are being a tad bit harder on Obama considering that he has only been in office 2 years and has a huge task to handle?? Yes, I do. My momma always told me that black people have to work twice as hard as their counterparts at anything that they do. And I think that this is only proving that point. Bush got 4 years to eff up, and another 4 years to make it worse. Obama gets 2 to make it better. Its really quite sad.

Oh, and for those people that don’t know what he’s done so far, I suggest you check out this website: http://whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com/
My job blocked the site (yes, I work for republicans), so I suggest checking it out on your free time and not at work.
