Clean House for the New Year!

Our bodies are our temples, so why do we put some much garbage in it? How many of you all know how long it takes for beef to pass through your system? No answers?? It takes a total SEVEN days for beef to make it in your mouth and out of your body- doesn’t sound very healthy does it?

Here’s another interesting yet disgusting fact.  Animals carry cancers cells just like we do, therefore they can also have tumors and such. Did you know when animals are being processed into parts to be shipped, farmers cut around tumors and deem that to be good meat? The tissue around the tumor can still contains those cancer cells too! Doesn’t sound appetizing anymore.

I don’t mean to gross anyone out but we really need to be aware of the things we put in our bodies, especially since we don’t know where or how things  get to our plates and stomachs. Therefore it is important to cleanse our bodies every now and again in order to stay healthy. The new year is coming up, why not start the 2012 off right. Here are a few tips you can use to create a “homemade cleanse” for the new year:

1. Limit the amount of beef intake. Like I said previously, beef takes the longest to get through your system which is the reason why you may feel sluggish up to a few days after you each a substantial amount of beef.

2. Begin consuming more vegetables. Vegetables have the most nutrients the less they are cooked. Just because you sit and consume a ton of greens for that new year superstition doesn’t mean you are getting the nutritional value. Start with baby carrots and celery, then work your way up.

3. Drink lots of water! I can’t stress this enough! Technically, you are suppose to drink 50%-70% of your body weight in water daily. I know most of you are not doing that and even though I drink a decent amount of water a day, I’m not even close to 50%. Water flushes your system of impurities.

4. Vitamins! It is always essential to take vitamins on a daily basis. If you choose multivitamins just know that it is just a mixture of vitamins together, and if you want your full value then it’s best to take them separately.

5. Exercise! We all know what it means. Our bodies need a certain amount of workout daily in order to achieve optimum regularity. Most of us don’t have the time or money to sign up for a gym but simple things just as going for walks or jogs can provide you with some type of cardio fitness.

There you have it! A homemade cleansing system. I guarantee that after a few days you will feel a difference of being lighter, having more energy, and being in a better mood. You can slowly bring back small amounts of beef into your diet but just remember how long it says in your body. Hope this helps everyone get on the road to a healthier life!
